Your likes on X (Twitter) most likely did not disappear: X made all likes private in June 2024, so other people can no longer see which posts you like, and you can no longer see theirs. Your own likes are still saved in the Likes tab on your profile, where only you can see them. If individual likes are missing from that tab, the post was deleted, the account behind it was suspended, deactivated or set to private, or a temporary bug is hiding them.

This guide explains what changed, how to find your likes in 2026, why single likes vanish and what you can do about it.

What Happened to Likes on X?

In the week of June 11, 2024, X switched likes to private for every account. Before that, anyone could open your profile, tap Likes and scroll through every post you had liked. Hiding likes used to be a paid feature for Premium subscribers. Now it is the default, and there is no setting to make your likes public again.

Here is what the change means in practice:

How to See Your Likes on X in 2026

Your liked posts are still in one place.

On the X app (iPhone and Android):

  1. Tap your profile picture in the top left corner, then tap Profile.

  2. Swipe the tabs below your bio (Posts, Replies, Highlights, Articles, Media) to the end.

  3. Tap Likes. Your liked posts appear newest first.

    On a computer:

    1. Go to x.com and click Profile in the left menu.

    2. Click the Likes tab below your bio.

The tab has a small lock icon next to it, which means only you can see it. If the Likes tab is missing from your own profile, update the app, restart it and check again on x.com in a browser. On other people’s profiles the tab is gone on purpose. X does not offer a search box inside the Likes tab. To find an old like, scroll, or download your X archive (see below) and search the file.

Can People See Your Likes on X?

No. Other users cannot see the list of posts you have liked. There is one exception: the person who wrote a post can see who liked it. If you like a friend’s post, your friend can see your name in the list of likes on that post, but nobody else can.

Your likes also still influence what X shows you and the people you interact with. X uses likes to rank posts in the For You feed, so a like is private but not invisible to the algorithm.

Why Does X Remove My Likes?

X does not remove likes as a punishment, but likes can vanish from your profile or turn grey again after you tap the heart. If the Likes tab works but certain posts are gone from it, one of these is usually the reason:
